Contact Here2Talk

SSLC and VIC students studying in Vancouver and Victoria have 24/7 access to free, one-on-one mental health support through Here2Talk, which is available via phone or chat. Utilizing Here2Talk does not affect students’ ability to access existing campus counseling services.

MindShift® CBT App

MindShift® CBT uses scientifically proven strategies based on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to help you learn to relax and be mindful, develop more effective ways of thinking, and use active steps to take charge of your anxiety.

Crisis support 24/7

Get help if you or someone else is in immediate danger, or at risk of harming yourself or others. Call 911 or visit your nearest emergency room. If you or someone you know is feeling hopeless or at risk of harm, call or chat online with a crisis responder any time.

Victim Services in B.C.

VictimLinkBC is a support program for victims of crime and trauma across B.C. and Yukon. This service is toll-free, confidential, and available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in different languages. 

Anxiety Canada

Anxiety Canada provides self-help information on anxiety disorders, stress, depression, panic attacks, and more. It also provides access to the MindShift app, and a dedicated section for youth.

QMunity

QMunity aims to respond to the needs of British Columbia’s queer, trans and Two-Spirit communities. The organization provides free counselling, support groups, information and referrals, and youth one-on-one peer support.

Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA)

CMHA gives access to accurate information on a variety of mental health disorders, mental health quizzes, and more.

DIVERSEcity Community Resources Society

DiverseCity offers newcomers to Canada (including international students living in Surrey, Langley, White Rock, and Delta) a variety of no-cost, multilingual programs and services, including counselling, citizenship preparation, and assistance with employment.

Counselling BC Directory

MOSAIC has locations throughout BC, offering settlement, language, and counselling support services to immigrants and refugees. They have a free International Student Safety Guide available on their website and offer Peer Cafes focused on increasing awareness around sexual assault.

Good2Talk is a free, confidential and anonymous helpline that serves all students in Ontario. It offers professional counselling, mental health information and connections to local resources. The service is available 24 hours a day in both English and French.

Distress Centres Of Greater Toronto

Distress Centres of Greater Toronto provide 24-hour support, 7 days a week, 365 days a year to individuals in our community at risk and their most vulnerable.

A free cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) program that offers guided mental health self-help supports for adults and youth 15 and older.

Youth Wellness Hubs

Free access to mental health services, support for substance use concerns, primary health care, social services, housing, employment, recreation and more with a network of 22 hubs across Ontario serving youth ages 12–25 in 30 communities.

ConnexOntario Helpline

Free and confidential health services information for people experiencing problems with alcohol and drugs, mental illness or gambling.

2SLGBTQ+ Support

YouthLine offers free support through Ontario-wide 2SLGBTQ+ peer-support HelpLine.
