Education Quality Assurance (EQA) is British Columbia’s official quality assurance designation for public and private post-secondary institutions. It applies to schools in cities like Vancouver, Victoria, and across the province. Institutions with the EQA designation have met or exceeded the BC provincial government’s quality assurance standards and provide consumer protection for students.

The EQA seal is a recognizable symbol of trust and quality. It helps international and local students easily identify which Vancouver- and Victoria-based institutions are officially recognized by the BC government for meeting high standards in education and student care.

The Private Training Institutions Regulatory Unit (PTRIU)↗ under BC’s Ministry of Post-Secondary Education & Future Skills, oversees the Private Training Act and its regulations. PTRIU is responsible for:

• Ensuring private institutions in Vancouver, Victoria, and across BC meet certification standards

• Maintaining a directory of certified institutions and their approved programs

• Providing student protection, including access to the Student Tuition Protection Fund

Sprott Shaw Language College (SSLC) is a PTRIU-regulated institution operating in both Vancouver and Victoria. This means SSLC meets the province’s standards for educational quality and consumer protection.

EduCanada is a brand that supports the international education offerings of Canada’s provinces and territories. The EduCanada brand is the result of collaboration between the provinces and territories through the Council of Ministers of Education, Canada (CMEC) and Global Affairs Canada. It is a protected trademark of the Government of Canada and is subject to a Master Licence Agreement between the parties.

For more than 40 years as an industry leader, the TOEIC program has set the global standard for assessing English-language communication skills needed in the workplace and everyday life. The TOEIC assessments are the most widely used English-language tests around the world with 14,000+ organizations across more than 160 countries trusting TOEIC scores to inform the decisions that matter. Our school is an authorized test center in Canada.

Bildungsurlaub allows employees by law to attend courses on special kinds of topics during their working time – up to 5 days per year. To enable this, courses and institutions need to be recognized for Bildungsurlaub. This can be reached by applying to the according ministries in Germany.
